Drop 6-3 Decision at Michigan Tech
HOUGHTON,
Mich. - The combination of Maggie Dodson (Frankenmuth,
Mich.) and Danielle Coldren (West Bloomfield,
Mich./Notre Dame Prep) were responsible for all three Cardinal
points for the second straight day on Saturday in a 6-3 loss to Michigan
Tech. Coldren was a convincing 6-1, 6-0 winner over Jennifer Jensen
in five singles and teamed with Dodson for a 8-2 three doubles win
over Jensen and Megan LaBoe. Lacie Rudolph (Highland,
Mich./Milford) earned a win at six singles over Carly Robinson

Dodson
and Coldren Account for all three points in 6-3 loss at Lake Superior
State
SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.
- The SVSU women's tennis squad fell 6-3 at Lake Superior State
on Friday afternoon despite a strong effort from Maggie
Dodson (Frankenmuth, Mich.) and Danielle
Coldren (West Bloomfield, Mich./Notre Dame Prep)
who accounted for all three Cardinal points. Dodson was a 4-6, 6-2,
6-1 winner at four singles over Megan Smith and teamed with Coldren
for a 8-6 win at three doubles. Coldren also had a three-set win
at five singles over Alex Chiakmakis, 3-6, 7-6, 6-3. SVSU is now
2-4 overall and in the GLIAC. (Stats) |

Claim 9-0 Win at Findlay
FINDLAY, Ohio.
- The SVSU women's tennis squad improved to 2-3 in the GLIAC with
a 9-0 win at Findlay on Sunday morning. Freshman Danielle
Coldren (West Bloomfield, Mich./Notre Dame Prep)
was a winner at five singles 6-0, 6-1 over Courtney Kahl and teamed
with Maggie Dodson (Frankenmuth, Mich.)
for a 8-1 win at three doubles over Mallory Garvin and Kahl. SVSU
won all matches in straight sets and will next be at Lake Superior
State on Friday, Oct. 7 at 2:00 pm. (Stats) |

MIDLAND,
Mich. - The SVSU women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to national
power Northwood University on Tuesday with the Timberwolves not dropping
a set. Brooke Kennedy (Walled Lake, Mich./Western)
took five games from Kristina Bogdanovic as that was the closest match

Sweeps Ashland, 9-0
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The
Saginaw Valley State women's tennis squad picked up its first win
of the season with a 9-0 sweep over Ashland on Saturday at the SVSU
Tennis Courts. Senior Andrea Prociv (Jackson,
Mich./Lumen Christi) was a winner at one singles and one doubles
for SVSU. She defeated Lauren Knasel, 6-4, 7-5 in singles and teamed
with Brooke Kennedy (Walled Lake, Mich./Western)
for a 8-3 win in doubles over Knasel and Michelle Maxwell. (Stats) |

Fall 6-3 to Mercyhurst
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.
- The Saginaw Valley State women's tennis squad opened their season
with a 6-3 loss to Mercyhurst on Friday. Brooke Kennedy
(Walled Lake, Mich./Western) was victorious at four singles,
6-4, 4-6, 10-4 over Maria Franco. Mercyhurst won the top three singles
matches and the top two doubles matches. Lacie Rudolph
(Highland, Mich./Milford) picked up a win at six singles,
6-2, 6-1 over Kassie Leuschel. SVSU (0-1) takes on Ashland tomorrow
at 10:00 am from the SVSU Tennis Courts. (Stats) |

NAMED SECOND TEAM ACADEMIC SELECTION
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - Senior
Nikki Schwarz (Battle Creek, Mich./Harper Creek)
was honored by CoSIDA as Second Team All-Academic in District IV for
the College Division on the Women's At-Large Team for the 2004-05
season. ESPN the Magazine sponsors the team and Schwarz was one of
23 student-athletes from Division II, Division III and NAIA in a region
comprised of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama to receive

Battle Florida Southern
SANFORD, Fla - The Saginaw Valley State University women's tennis
team dropped a 7-2 decision the Florida Southern on Tuesday (March
1). Florida Southern is currently ranked #23 in NCAA Division II.

defeated Lindsay Willis 6-3, 7-5 at fourth singles to win one

Open Spring Season in Florida
SANFORD, Fla - The SVSU women's
tennis team opened the spring season with a 7-2 defeat at the hands
of Ohio Northern University on Tuesday (March 1). In doubles competition,
the number two combo of Brooke Kennedy (Walled
Lake, Mich./Wester) and Andrea Prociv (Jackson,
Mich./Lumen Christi) earned an 8-6 decision over the ONU team
of Oleski/Heckbert. Nikki Schwarz (Battle Creek,
Mich./ Harper Creek) battled to a 7-5, 6-2 win over ONU's Bridget

Sign Two For 2005
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.- Saginaw
Valley State University women's tennis coach Mike Major has announced
the signing of Danielle Coldren and Jackie Feurt to National Letters
of Intent to compete for the Cardinals beginning in the fall of 2005.
Coldren played her high school tennis at Pontiac Notre Dame Prep,
while Feurt competed for Flint Carman-Ainsworth High School. (RELEASE) |
