                            Cardinals Suffer 69-53 Defeat to the Huskies

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Chelsey MacNeill scored 17 points while Andrea Novak dropped in 15 to pace the Michigan Tech Huskies in a 69-53 victory over the Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals. The Huskies broke out to a 36-26 lead at the half and never looked back. Saginaw Valley battled hard in the second half, but were unable cut the Huskies lead to less then six points.
      Freshman Lisa Collison (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage HS) led the way with 15 points, while going 3-of-5 from long range. Junior Jennifer Hagstrom (Cadillac, Mich.) had a strong game with 14 points and nine blocks.
      Saginaw Valley is drops to 13-7 (5-6 GLIAC) with the loss, while Tech moves to 11-6 (6-3 GLIAC) with the victory. The Cards return to action on Saturday, (Jan. 31) when they play host to Northern Michigan. Opening tip is set for 1:00p.m.
