August 18, 2001 Cardinals Fall to Madonna UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.-The SVSU men's soccer team lost its opening regular season contest Tuesday (August 28) to Madonna University 1-0. Sam Pariane knocked in the lone goal 35 minutes into the first period. "It was a difficult loss for us," said head coach Bob Cole. "Our guys learned what it takes to play at this level. We didn't play our game until the second half, and just couldn't knock one in." The loss drops the Cardinals to 0-1 on the season.
