Cardinals Down Adrian, 13-2

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University baseball team improved to 10-2 on the season with a 13-2 win over Adrian College on Friday (Mar. 21). Junior Ryan Reid (Sarnia, Ontario) earned the win on the hill, moving his record to 3-0 this season. Reid allowed just three hits over five innings of work. He fanned seven Bulldog batters.
   The Cardinals displayed a balanced offensive attack at the plate, led by Mike Crawford (Lake Orion, Mich.). The junior finished the contest with four hits, including two home runs, and three RBI. Eric Caldwell (Cary Grove, Ill.) and Jason Burghardt (Temperance, Mich./Bedford HS) each had three hits for SVSU, while Sean Odamura (Mississauga, Ontario) added two. Junior Dan Jones (Gladstone, Mich.) belted his first home run of the year in the win.
   SVSU is scheduled to face Alma College on Sunday (Mar. 23) in Flint, Mich., at 2:00p.m.
