Cardinals Stay Unbeaten in Florida
FORT MYERS, Fla.- The SVSU
baseball team ran its record to 3-0 on the season with a 4-2 win
over St. Vencent (Pa.). Joe Kramer (Linden) earned
the win in relief of Rob Conley (Elliot Lake, Ontario,
CA). Senior Adam Ruffner (Gibraltar/Carlson HS)
pitched the seventh inning to earn the save.
Sean Odamura (Mississauga, Ontario,
CA/Lorne Park) doubled in the seventh inning and later scored
on a sacrifice bunt by Adam Piggott (Sarnia, Ontario, CA/Sarnia
Collegiate) to push the Cardinals ahead 4-2. Eric Caldwell
(Cary Grove, Ill.) went 2-for-2 at the plate and recorded
2 RBI.
The Cardinals face Clarion University on Tuesday
(Feb. 26). SVSU's home opener is Tuesday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m.
against Madonna University.
