Runners Ready for 2008

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The 2008 men's and women's cross country teams start their season at home this Friday (Aug. 29) at the annual SVSU Invitational.  This season though there will be a new feel to the program as Grant Wall takes control of his first season as coach of cross country and track programs.  Wall started off his tenure as coach earlier this month with a trip to Mio that he returned from pleasantly surprised with the amount of talent that was on the teams and the level of dedication each on of his runners showed over the summer. SVSU Ranked #23 in D2Football Preseason Poll

footballUNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University is ranked #23 nationally by D2Football.com in their pre-season poll (Aug. 26). The Cardinals will have a different look this season as first year coach Jim Collins looks to lead the Cardinals back to the top of the GLIAC this season.   SVSU will open the season on September 6 when they host Wayne State, kickoff is scheduled for noon.

Cardinals to Unveil New Look in 2008

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - A new coach, staff, and defense will not be the only new additions walking the sidelines for the Cardinals this fall. SVSU unveiled their new Nike uniforms that they will wear during the 2008 season. The new look will hit the field for action on September 6 when the Cardinals host Wayne State in the season opener at noon at Wickes Stadium. [more»]

Lady Cardinals Selected Fifth in GLIAC North

VolleyballBay City, Mich. -- The head volleyball coaches of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) chose Saginaw Valley State University to finish fifth in the GLIAC North for the 2008 season. [more»]

Mens Soccer Selected Third in GLIAC Coached Poll

BAY CITY, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University mens soccer team was selected to finish third in the annual GLIAC coaches poll and recorded the one first-place vote while tallying 10 points. The Cardinals finished tied for second with Northwood (6-3-1) in GLIAC regular season play last season. [more»]
