February 2014 the University Art Gallery and the SVSU Department of Art is hosting a juried digital fine arts competition "Cyberspace II Competition," which is open to artists within the State of Michigan.
This exhibition is open to any Michigan artist using a digital imaging device such as a digital camera or scanner and/or digital imaging program in the creation of their work. Artwork should be created with a fine art rather than a commercial emphasis and must be professionally framed and ready to hang. No works requiring a computer or other electronic device for display will not be accepted unless artist provides own equipment. Entries cannot be larger than 6 ft. in any dimension. The gallery does not take a commission for sold pieces. Cash prizes will be awarded.
Entry Submission Deadline: January 13, 2014 (postmark January 9, 2014)
Exhibition Dates: February 17-March 14, 2013
Opening Reception: March 13th, from 4:30-6:30pm
Awards: $200 top cash prize, additional awards will be given at the discretion of the juror.

Entry Process: Artist must submit work by email with up to (3) pieces of work. Images no larger than 2500 pixels on the largest side and resolution 300dpi. Submit images labeled with title, size, year of completion and price as well as your artist statement to:

*If you are submitting over email you must still mail in a check (made out to SVSU ) to be considered for the exhibition.
**By submitting to Cyberspace Competition II you are agreeing to SVSU's gallery and image policies. Once submitted, you are giving SVSU rights to use your image for promotion purposes. An additional policy and entry form will be given to artists who are accepted into the competition.
Entry Fee: Nonrefundable entry fee of $20 for professional artists, $10 for students (you must send copy of school ID). If emailing content you must also mail a check made out to Saginaw Valley State University by entry deadline date (1/13/14 - postmarked 1/9/14) for work to be considered. If mailing your package please submit check with entry information. No credit cards accepted. Cashiers and/or personal checks will be accepted.
Notification: January 20-24, 2014 by email.
Accepted Work: Drop off of accepted work(s): M-F, February 3-7, 2014 8:30-4:30pm and Saturday February 8, 2014 10-2pm in the University Art Gallery or A103 Arbury Fine Arts Office. Accepted work that doesn't comply to its initial image integrity, at the discretion of the director and juror will be disqualified.
Artwork pick up: Saturday, March 15, 2014, 11-2pm in the University Art Gallery and March 17-21, 2014 8:30-4pm in A103. Any questions please contact email@example.com or call (989) 964-2291.
Sales: There will be no commission retained by the University Art Gallery. Potential sales will be referred to the artist.
Liability: Although wxtreme care will be taken with all entries, the University Art Gallery, Art Department of Saginaw Valley State University will not be responsible for loss or damage. Submission of works implies agreement to all conditions of this entry information including permission to photograph accepted works for publicity. Art work not picked up by Monday, March 24, 2014 will be disposed.
