Reception for Artists

This exhibit features art work by four artists: Shaun Bangert a professor of Art in the Department of Art at SVSU, Larry Butcher is a retired professor emeritus of art from Delta College,  Aaron Gaertner, is a professional photographer from Bay City, with a degree from Delta College, and Alex Mazon, is a  New York artist.  The art work on display in this exhibit is related to the theme of "pilgrimmages," and the exhibit is in conjunction with a Conference that is being held at SVSU "Striding toward Salvation: Medieval and Renaissance Pilgrimage in Europe and the Mediterranean."  
 
This exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
 
Conference Information: The Departments of Art and Music will be hosting the Conference which is being held Friday, February  22 and Saturday, February 23.   All events are free, open to the SVSU community, and will be held in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall.  

The Conference will consist of four paper sessions, beginning at 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 2:00 p.m. on Friday and at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, plus a keynote speech by Dr. Eugene Enrico, a founding member of the SVSU Music Department, to be delivered at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Events will also include a film screening of Eugene Enrico’s documentary, And They Sang a New Song: Twenty-Four Musical Elders at Santiago de Compostela, to be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and a concert of medieval music by Early Music Michigan and the Hildegard Singers on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.. The conference and events; film screening, and concert are free and open to the public.
