Saginaw Valley State University offers merit-based academic scholarships in varying amounts to qualified freshmen. Scholarship awards vary from $2,000 – full tuition per academic year renewable for up to four years with good academic standing. Each year, 650 of these prestigious scholarships are awarded.

Application & Review Process:

  • There is not a separate scholarship application form. Just submit the regular Undergraduate Application form.
  • All Freshman applicants will be automatically reviewed and considered for the scholarship as part of the application review process.
  • The following criteria are taken into consideration:
    • Academic Scholarships are awarded based upon a student's academic achievement. This is determined based on their high school cumulative G.P.A. and composite ACT score.

Apply early. For scholarship consideration, we recommend you apply before December 1st of your senior year in high school. Scholarships are awarded only if they are still available; in some cases, a Scholarship Wait List is established and any awardees will be notified.
