Temporary Use of Amigos

Amigos are available to all students, staff and visitors of SVSU for temporary or occasional use.

Procedure

Individuals seeking to use one of SVSU’s Amigos can arrive at the 1st Floor Desk in the Melvin Zahnow Library during our hours of operation.  Please go here to see what those hours are: https://librarysubjectguides.svsu.edu/ContactsandHours

The Amigo User Agreement must be read and signed before any Amigo is procured for temporary use. This agreement details and shows that the user accepts full responsibility for the care of the SVSU Amigo and understands all the SVSU Amigo policies and rules for use. The user may also be held responsible for any damages that occurred during their use of the Amigo, beyond normal wear and tear.

The key should be removed from the Amigos anytime the Amigo is left temporarily outside a classroom or office.

Individuals are responsible to ensure any food or drink spills are wiped up immediately.

Users should return the Amigo to the 1st Floor Desk in the Melvin J. Zahnow Library 15 minutes before closing.  Please go here to see what those hours are: https://librarysubjectguides.svsu.edu/ContactsandHours

At that time, all materials should be removed from the Amigo's basket and the Amigo should be left in clean condition. If any damages occurred, beyond expected wear and tear, then the user must report those damages.
